Method9 steps

  1. Step 1: If frozen, thaw the shrimp before peeling and deveining. Toss all 8–10 shrimp with the SHRIMP seasoning portions: ½ tsp each salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and cayenne. Adjust cayenne to the desired heat and refrigerate the seasoned shrimp for 10–15 minutes. Keep the separate sauce-seasoning portions for the later spice-toasting stage.

Refrigerate seasoned shrimp · 10 minUses All 8–10 peeled and deveined raw shrimp · Shrimp portion: 0.5 tsp salt (shrimp seasoning) · Shrimp portion: 0.5 tsp black pepper · Shrimp portion: 0.5 tsp garlic powder · Shrimp portion: 0.5 tsp onion powder · Shrimp portion: 0.5 tsp ground cumin · Shrimp portion: 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to heat preference)

  2. Step 2: Heat all 2 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add all the earlier marinated shrimp and cook about 2–3 minutes on the first side, then turn and cook about 2–3 minutes on the other side, until opaque and cooked through. Lift the cooked shrimp out and hold them for the later sauce assembly.

Cook shrimp — repeat for each side · 2 minUses 2 tbsp olive oil · All earlier seasoned 8–10 shrimp

  3. Step 3: Wash and dice the bell pepper (⅓ cup) if needed. Measure the ⅓ cup diced pepper into the same skillet and sauté for 2–3 minutes, until slightly softened.

Sauté diced bell pepper · 2 minUses ⅓ cup diced bell pepper

  4. Step 4: Peel and mince all 4 garlic cloves. Stir them and all 1 tbsp butter into the softened peppers and cook for another 1–2 minutes, until fragrant without burning the garlic.

Sauté garlic in butter · 1 minUses All earlier softened pepper · 4 garlic cloves, minced · 1 tbsp butter

  5. Step 5: Add the SEPARATE sauce-seasoning portions to the buttery garlic-and-pepper base: roughly ½ tsp each salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and cayenne. Stir and toast for about 30 seconds, without scorching. These are not the spices already used on the shrimp.

Toast separate sauce spice blend · 1 minUses All earlier garlic, butter and softened peppers · Separate sauce portion: 0.5 tsp salt · Separate sauce portion: 0.5 tsp black pepper · Separate sauce portion: 0.5 tsp garlic powder · Separate sauce portion: 0.5 tsp onion powder · Separate sauce portion: 0.5 tsp ground cumin · Separate sauce portion: 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper

  6. Step 6: Leave the ramen seasoning sachets aside; they are not used in this recipe. Bring a separate pot of water to the boil and cook the noodles from both Shin Ramyun packs for 1 minute less than the actual purchased packet directs. Reserve some of this actual noodle cooking water before draining, and hold the drained partly cooked noodles and water separately for the later sauce assembly.

Uses Separate noodle boiling water; amount unspecified · Noodles from both Shin Ramyun packs

Separately, boil the Shin Ramyun noodles for one minute shy of the package timing, then drain and set them aside.
  7. Step 7: Pour all 1 cup heavy cream into the toasted-spice vegetable base. Simmer gently over medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes, then stir in the measured ⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan until melted and the sauce thickens slightly.

Simmer cream before melting sauce Parmesan · 2 minUses All earlier toasted-spice vegetable base · 1 cup heavy cream · Measured ⅓ cup Parmesan for the sauce

Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and let it simmer over medium-low for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the parmesan and stir until it melts and the sauce thickens slightly, tasting and adjusting the seasoning as needed.
  8. Step 8: Add all the earlier drained noodles to the completed Alfredo sauce. Toss gently, adding a little of the actual reserved noodle water only if needed, until the noodles are tender and coated. Return all the earlier fully cooked shrimp and gently fold through until everything is hot.

Uses All noodles from both packs, cooked earlier one minute short · All finished Alfredo sauce · A little of the actual earlier unmeasured water reserve only if needed · All earlier fully cooked 8–10 shrimp

  9. Step 9: Divide the hot finished noodles and shrimp into 2 servings. If desired, wash and chop parsley for garnish, grate the separate extra serving Parmesan and add the optional lemon squeeze. The measured sauce Parmesan has already been used.

Uses All finished shrimp ramen and sauce · Optional chopped parsley garnish · Optional separate extra serving Parmesan · Optional squeeze of lemon juice
