  1. Step 1: Place all 5 g dried chrysanthemum tea flowers in a tea bag, cheesecloth pouch or tea strainer inside a heatproof teapot. Alternatively, use a teapot with a built-in strainer so the petals can be kept out of the cups.

  2. Step 2: Bring the 3 cups first-infusion water to a boil and pour it over the prepared flowers. Let the tea steep off the heat for 3–5 minutes, tasting from 3 minutes and continuing to your preferred strength.

Uses All tea flowers and their straining arrangement from step 1 · 3 cups water for the first infusion

  3. Step 3: Strain or pour through the teapot strainer and share the first pot between two tea portions. If desired, retain the same flowers and add fresh hot water for 2–3 further infusions, steeping again to taste. The flavour becomes lighter with each refill; no additional flowers are required.

Uses Strained drink from the first infusion in step 2, excluding retained flowers · Optional further infusions only: the same flowers retained from step 2, excluding the poured first tea · Unmeasured fresh hot water for optional further infusions
