Method10 steps

  1. Step 1: Spoon 1 tsp of Nutella onto a tray lined with baking paper to make about 15 Nutella balls. Cover the tray with cling wrap and place it in the freezer until it is ready to be used.

Freeze Nutella teaspoon portionsUses About 15 tsp Nutella, 1 tsp per pancake pop

  2. Step 2: Sift the flour, sugar (1/4 cup), and baking powder (1/4 tsp) together into a large bowl.

Uses 1 cup self raising flour · 1/4 cup caster sugar · 1/4 tsp baking powder

  3. Step 3: Crack the one egg into a measuring jug and whisk it. Add milk only until egg and milk together reach 1½ cups, then mix.

  4. Step 4: Add it to the dry ingredients and mix together.

  6. Step 6: Heat a Takoyaki maker or a profiterole maker (these are a bit more shallow though) on medium heat and spray a little oil then pour the batter into each hole about 80% full (so a bit below the top).

  7. Step 7: Once the outside of each pancake pop begins to set, place one frozen teaspoon Nutella portion in its centre. Use the remaining batter and filling for any later batch.

  8. Step 8: Use a kebab stick or skewer to scoop the pancake pops and flip them over.

Uses Partly set Nutella-filled pancake pops

  9. Step 9: Keep turning the pops gently until round and evenly lightly browned, and the surrounding pancake batter is fully cooked through with no wet batter remaining. The egg-containing batter should reach 71°C (160°F).
