Method4 steps

  1. Step 1: Combine all the sugar (1 cup) and water (1 cup) in a small saucepan.

Uses 1 cup granulated sugar · 1 cup water

  2. Step 2: Split the vanilla bean (1) lengthwise without cutting through the back, then cut it in half. Scrape the seeds into the sugar-water mixture and add the scraped pod pieces too.

Uses All the mixture from step 1 · 1 vanilla bean

  3. Step 3: Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 2–3 minutes or until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat as soon as the sugar dissolves.

Uses All the vanilla mixture from step 2

  4. Step 4: Let the syrup cool, then pour it and the vanilla pod pieces into a clean glass jar. Close the lid and refrigerate. Use a clean utensil when taking out the syrup you need.

Uses All the dissolved syrup and pod pieces from step 3
