Step 1: Preheat the oven to 320°F/160°C. Peel and core the apples (1 ⅓ lb), quarter and thinly slice them. Sprinkle with an optional splash of lemon juice to prevent browning.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour (2 cups) with baking powder (2 teaspoons). In a separate bowl, mix softened butter (7 oz) with granulated sugar (1 cups), ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon), vanilla extract (1 drop), and whole milk (3 tablespoon) until the mixture becomes frothy. Gradually add the eggs (4), one at a time, stirring each one in before adding the next. Mix the ingredients until everything is smooth. Fold the flour and baking-powder mixture, with the pinch of salt, into the creamed wet mixture until just combined.
Step 3: Strain the apples and add them to the batter, stirring gently to incorporate them. Pour the mixture into a greased springform pan.
Step 4: The baking time of the pie depends on the amount of apples used. It usually takes anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes at 320°F (160° C).
Step 5: As soon as the cake comes out of the oven, sprinkle it with the listed 1 teaspoon cinnamon-sugar mixture.
