Step 1: Preheat the oven to 200°C /390°F.
Step 2: Toast the 50 g almond flour in a dry non-stick pan until just beginning to turn golden, stirring to prevent burning. Transfer to a bowl and let cool.
Step 3: Wash the 4 apples, cut off and reserve their top lids, then carefully remove the cores and make generous cavities without cutting through the bases. Place the cored apples in individual oven-safe dishes or one larger baking dish.
Step 4: Divide the 80 g ready marzipan into 4 portions of 20 g and press one portion into the bottom of each apple cavity.
Step 5: Mix the 50 g melted butter, 40 g sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon with the cooled toasted almond flour. Divide this mixture evenly among the 4 apples over the marzipan.
Step 6: In the now-empty almond-toasting pan, bring the chosen 150 ml white wine OR alternative liquid and 1 tbsp lemon juice to a boil. Pour evenly over the 4 filled apples.
Step 7: Bake for 25 minutes without the apple lids. Put the reserved lids on the apples and bake for a further 10 minutes, about 35 minutes total, until the apples are tender.
Step 8: Serve the baked apples in their individual dishes or on plates, spooning the cooked juices over them. Add optional ready vanilla ice cream.
