Step 1: Have three cups cooked rice ready for the two bowls. Its separate cooking, if needed, is completed before this taco-rice preparation.
Step 2: Chop the six cherry tomatoes and the quarter purple onion for salsa. Mix with lemon juice (1 tsp) and the separate pinch of salt and pepper and set aside. Reserve the half brown onion for the beef.
Step 3: Mix the mild Mexican chilli powder (1/2 tbs), garlic powder (1/4 tsp), onion powder (1/4 tsp), dried oregano (1/4 tsp), half teaspoon salt, half teaspoon black pepper and teaspoon cornstarch. This makes about two to three tablespoons; use only one tablespoon for this recipe and reserve the remainder in an airtight container.
Step 5: Finely chop the half brown onion. Heat the olive oil (1/2 tbs) in a frying pan and cook this onion; the salsa onion remains uncooked in the reserved salsa.
Step 7: Once the beef has browned, stir in the prepared ketchup, water and one-tablespoon seasoning sauce.
Step 9: Turn the heat off and set it aside.
