  1. Step 1: Put the water (2 cups) in a medium pot with either the sliced fresh ginger piece or one tablespoon ground ginger. Set over medium heat.

Uses 2 cups water · Fresh sliced ginger only if choosing the fresh route · One tablespoon ground ginger only if replacing the fresh piece

  2. Step 2: Allow this to come to a boil, then add the milk (2 cups). You want to keep an eye on the water-milk mixture to make sure it does not spill-over.

Uses Water with the chosen ginger · 2 cups milk, dairy or a chosen plant milk

  3. Step 3: Next, reduce the heat to a low, stir in the black tea leaves (2 tbsp), then allow this to also come to a boil.

Uses Boiling ginger-and-milk mixture · 2 tbsp black tea leaves

  4. Step 4: Once boiled, switch off the heat, set the pot aside and pass the ginger tea through a sieve to separate the tea leaves, into a thermos flask or a pot.

    Uses Complete brewed milk-and-ginger tea

  5. Step 5: Pour the strained tea into cups and serve hot. Add the optional sugar or sweetener to taste.

Uses Strained hot ginger milk tea · sweetener or sugar to taste (optional)
