Method9 steps · about 1 hr
Step 1: First, mix the flour and salt and add the first cup of water (2 cups) and knead very well then add the remaining bit by bit until you get a dough that is very elastic and sticky.
Step 2: Divide the dough into 6 balls. Grease a deep dish with a little of the melted butter and place the balls in it.
Step 3: Let it rest for 15 min. and turn your oven on to the highest degree possible, mine was 550 F.
Step 4: Roll the first ball very thin, until you can see the counter through it, then brush generously with some of the melted butter.
Step 5: Choose a savory filling such as cheese or a sweet filling such as Nutella; these are alternatives. Arrange some of your chosen filling in the middle and carefully fold all 4 sides over the center. Use cooked meat if choosing a meat filling.
Step 6: Roll the next dough ball very thin and brush with some of the melted butter, as with the first.
Step 7: Place the filled parcel from the first ball in the center of the second sheet, folded side down. Fold the outer sheet over it, brushing with more melted butter as you fold.
Step 8: Repeat the wrapping process with a third dough ball to make a three-layer feteer, and brush the top generously with melted butter. For an optional savory topping, mix the egg (1) with black olives and bell pepper and add it to the top. Repeat the process with the remaining 3 dough balls to make the second feteer, using the remaining chosen filling and butter.
Step 9: Place the feteer in a pizza pan or another oven pan and bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Serve sweet feteer with optional powdered sugar.
