Method4 steps · about 14 min

  1. Step 1: Bring a large pot of water to a boil for the pasta (8 oz). Add the pasta and boil for its package’s recommended time until tender (usually about 7–10 minutes).

Uses 8 oz pasta, any shape · water for boiling pasta and broccoli

  2. Step 2: When the pasta is just tender, add the frozen broccoli florets (1/2 lb) to the boiling water with the pasta, and let it sit for about one minute. Reserve a ¼ cup of the starchy pasta water, then drain the pasta and broccoli in a colander.

Uses cooked pasta in boiling water · 1/2 lb frozen broccoli florets

  3. Step 3: Return the drained pasta and broccoli to the pot with the burner turned off. Add the butter (2 Tbsp) and ranch seasoning (1 1/2 Tbsp) and stir until the butter is melted and everything is coated in the seasoning. If the pasta becomes dry while stirring, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.

Uses drained cooked pasta and broccoli · 2 Tbsp butter · 1 1/2 Tbsp ranch seasoning · a splash of reserved pasta water

  4. Step 4: Finally, season the pasta with salt (1/8 tsp) and pepper to taste. Serve warm.

Uses ranch-coated pasta and broccoli · 1/8 tsp salt, or to taste · 1/8 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
