Step 1: Prepare the vegetables before heating the pan. Wash and trim the long green beans (½ lb) and slice them diagonally into thin pieces. Wash and chop enough Napa cabbage to measure 1 cup. Peel and slice the onion, and wash and chop the tomato (1 medium). Keep each vegetable separate for its cooking stage. Heat all 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan.
Step 2: Add all the raw ground beef (1½ lb). Break up the meat and cook, stirring, until browned. It continues cooking with the vegetables in the following stages.
Step 3: Add all the prepared onion and tomato, then stir in 3–4 tablespoons of soy sauce, choosing the amount within that source range according to how strongly seasoned you want the dish.
Step 4: Add all the held chopped Napa cabbage. Cover and cook over medium heat for 5–8 minutes, checking from 5 minutes as the cabbage softens in the covered pan.
Step 5: Uncover the pan and add all the prepared sliced green beans. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6: Add all the garlic powder (1 tsp) and ground black pepper (¼ tsp). Stir and cook for about 3 minutes, until the beans are tender and the ground beef is fully cooked, reaching at least 71°C / 160°F. Continue gently if needed.
Step 7: Transfer the hot beef and vegetables to a serving plate and serve with ready steamed white rice if wanted.
Step 8: Share between four portions and enjoy while hot.
