Step 1: Whip the cream (1/2 cup) until soft peaks form. Set a couple of spoonfulls of whipped cream aside to garnish your finished drink and add the rest of it to a sauce pan.
Step 2: Add the milk (2 cups), and the cinnamon sticks (2 sticks) to the sauce pan, and stir to combine.
Step 3: Over medium heat, bring this mixture to a simmer.
Step 4: When the milky mixture is simmering, add the chopped chocolate.
Step 5: Whisk gently until the chocolate has melted completely.
Step 6: Remove and discard the cinnamon sticks.
Step 7: Add ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk, whisk to combine and taste. Add extra condensed milk incrementally if desired, tasting along the way. Add a little extra milk if needed for your preferred consistency.
Step 8: After you reach your desired sweetness, pour the hot chocolate into cups.
Step 9: Top with the reserved whipped cream (and extra whipped cream if desired), shaved chocolate and a pinch of cinnamon.
