Method9 steps · about 20 min

  1. Step 1: Slice the 3 oz Spam and 3 oz ready cooked kamaboko into thick matchsticks. Peel and julienne the small carrot (1). Chop the one green-onion stalk. Keep these prepared components separate for their later stages.

Uses 3 oz Spam · 3 oz kamaboko (Japanese fish cake) · 1 small carrot · 1 green onion stalk

  2. Step 2: Beat the one egg. Scramble it in a pan until fully set, using an actual small draw of the divided frying oil only if needed. Let it cool enough to handle, then slice thinly and reserve this one cooked-egg batch.

  3. Step 3: Bring a small pot of noodle water to a boil. Add the one 4.5 oz frozen saimin-noodle package and boil for just 30 seconds to loosen and separate the noodles rather than fully cooking them. Drain immediately, rinse with cool water to stop cooking and remove starch, and drain well. Discard that water.
