Method7 steps
Step 1: Separate the eggs (3). Reserve the yolks and beat the whites into a firm, airy foam.
Step 2: Beat the reserved yolks with the oil (100 ml) and sugar (150 g). Mix in the flour (130 g), baking powder (10 g), 100 ml sponge milk and salt. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites with a spatula.
Step 3: Pour the batter into a parchment-lined baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F for about 20 minutes, until the sponge is set and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 4: Let the sponge cool for about 30 minutes, then cut it into equal squares or rectangles.
Step 5: Gently melt the dark chocolate (250 g) with the butter (250 g) and 200 ml coating milk, stirring to form a smooth sauce.
Step 6: Quickly dip all sides of each cooled sponge piece in the prepared chocolate sauce, then roll in desiccated coconut (300 g). Reserve any unused coating sauce or coconut for another use.
Step 7: Store the čupavci covered in the refrigerator
