Method6 steps

  1. Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and keep it ready for cooling the coated nuts.

  2. Step 2: Put all the granulated sugar (4 tablespoons), light brown sugar (4 tablespoons), ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon) and butter (2 tablespoons) in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Uses 4 tablespoons granulated sugar · 4 tablespoons light brown sugar · 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon · 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  3. Step 3: Stir the sugar, cinnamon and butter mixture frequently for about 3–4 minutes, until the sugars dissolve and combine with the butter. Keep the heat moderate so the mixture does not burn.

  4. Step 4: As soon as the sugars have dissolved, quickly add all the pecan halves (1 cup) and toss until the nuts are fully coated on both sides.

  5. Step 5: Carefully spread all the coated pecans on the lined cooling sheet. Let them cool for about 5 minutes, until the candy hardens and the nuts are cool to the touch.
