Method5 steps
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325°F. Have the bacon already cooked golden and lightly crisp, then chopped, and the sesame seeds already lightly toasted before starting the dip.
Step 2: Mix all the goat cheese (10 oz), mashed avocado, tablespoon of jalapeño (1 tbsp), shallots (1 tbsp) and ready cooked chopped bacon in a bowl until evenly combined. Taste and add salt only if needed; add a little of the optional extra jalapeño (to taste) if you want more heat.
Step 3: Brush both sides of all the pita breads with 2 tablespoons of the measured toasted sesame oil, adding a little optional extra oil only if needed. Sprinkle both sides with the tablespoon of sumac (1 tbsp) and any optional extra sumac (to taste) to taste, then arrange on a baking sheet. Bake at 325°F for 12–15 minutes, checking from 12 minutes, until toasted and crisp without burning.
Step 4: Spoon the prepared dip into a serving bowl and make a shallow well in the middle. Pour in the remaining measured tablespoon of toasted sesame oil, adding optional extra only if needed, and sprinkle all the ready toasted sesame seeds (2 tsp) over the dip.
Step 5: Break the crisp baked pita into pieces and serve alongside the finished dip for six snack portions. Use the pita pieces to scoop the dip or spread the dip over them.
