  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 250°F. Divide the one 2 lb animal-cracker supply among 2–3 large rimmed baking sheets or roasting pans, with enough space to stir the crackers without spilling.

  2. Step 2: Make one coating-syrup batch. Melt the ½ cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the ⅓ cup sugar and 1 tsp sea salt and stir until dissolved. Remove from the heat, then stir in the ⅓ cup light corn syrup and ¼ cup vegetable oil until evenly mixed.

  3. Step 3: Drizzle the one complete prepared coating-syrup batch evenly over all the crackers across the prepared pans. Stir gently so each cracker is lightly coated; distribute the same syrup batch between the pans rather than making another batch for each pan.

  4. Step 4: Sprinkle the measured ⅔ cup Nori Komi furikake over the syrup-coated crackers across all the pans. Gently stir until the seasoning is distributed evenly.

  5. Step 5: Bake the prepared coated crackers at 250°F for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes during that hour so the pieces bake evenly. Remove the pans from the oven after the one baking interval.

  6. Step 6: Let the baked crackers cool completely in their pans, stirring every few minutes as they cool to prevent clumps. They may feel soft while warm but will become crisp as they cool. Only once completely cool, transfer the actual finished batch to airtight containers and enjoy as snacks.
